Terms and conditions

1. Quotations
Website estimates are planning ranges, not offers. A quotation is an offer only when it is issued in writing after a survey (video or on-site) and is valid for 30 days unless it says otherwise. Volume, access, packing method and the customs position can change the price until the inventory is closed.
2. What we do
We arrange packing, road, sea or air carriage of used household and personal effects, short- or medium-term storage, and UK import or export declarations for those goods. We are not a general commercial freight broker. We may use subcontractors for origin labour, ocean space, haulage and warehousing; we remain the contracting party for the scope in the quotation.
3. Your information
You must give an accurate packing list, values, and the facts needed for any relief claim. You warrant that the goods are yours to ship, are not prohibited, and are not commercial stock described as personal effects. New purchases, alcohol, tobacco and licensable items must be identified before packing.
4. Customs and ToR
HMRC grants or refuses Transfer of Residence relief. We prepare applications and declarations from the documents you supply. We are not liable for duty or import VAT that becomes due because relief is refused, because facts were wrong, or because goods fall outside the relief. Port storage, examination and delayed release caused by missing papers are charged to the job.
5. Transit times
Sailing, road and clearance times are estimates. They are not guarantees. Vessel space, weather, industrial action, canal events and customs holds are outside our control. We will tell you when a booked slot moves.
6. Payment
Unless the quotation says otherwise, 50% is due to confirm the booking and the balance is due before delivery or before we instruct a port release, whichever is earlier. Storage is invoiced weekly in arrears after the included window. We do not release goods against an unpaid invoice.
7. Insurance
Carriage is at limited carrier liability unless you instruct us to arrange goods-in-transit cover and pay the premium. Cover follows the policy wording: packing method, excluded goods and the declared value all matter. Photograph high-value pieces before they are wrapped.
8. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. For other loss, our liability for any job is limited to the charges paid for that job, except to the extent a compulsory carriage convention applies a different limit. We are not liable for consequential loss, including missed tenancy starts, hotel costs or visa appointments, unless we agreed that risk in writing.
9. Cancellation
If you cancel after a booking is confirmed, we may keep the deposit to the extent we have already paid for space, packing labour, materials or documents, and a reasonable administration charge. Cooling-off rights for distance contracts may apply to consumers; we will honour those rights where the law requires it, less the cost of any work already carried out at your request.
10. Law
These terms and any dispute or claim (including non-contractual disputes) are governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except that a consumer who lives in Scotland or Northern Ireland may also bring a claim in their home courts.
